At least once per month, members of JCI Brantford convene to discuss important issues related to their chapter. The content of the meeting is usually arranged in advance and communicated to members in the form of an Agenda. This agenda ensures that the meeting stays on topic and efficient. Each member has a voice on every topic of importance - from budgetary considerations to project planning - which is enforced by our use of Roberts Rules of Order.
Besides business, meetings are also where prospective members and guests are invited to either meet JCI for the first time, or to present a topic of shared interest with our members.
Since meetings can sometimes feel too formal and structured, JCI has learned to incorporate fun tastful games into our proceedings such as "Fine Sessions" and other interesting content. The key to keeping everyone coming out each month is a balance of fun, business and fellowship.
In a nutshell, a good meeting should:
- Ensure Face-to-face contact
- Facilitate Less talk, more action.
- Give everyone a voice
