Santa Claus Parade Theme Chosen

Super Hero Christmas This year's Santa Claus Parade now has a theme. A Super Hero Christmas will be the theme that we're going with and it's felt this will bring a great amount of innovation to the parade. "With this theme we're expecting to see all sorts of interesting interpretations", says Jeremy Voss, the 2008 Santa Claus Parade chairperson. "I think the time was right for this theme and the kids are going to love it".

The 34th Annual Santa Claus Parade takes place on Saturday, November 29, 2008 in downtown Brantford.

JCI Brantford Member becomes CLT

Senator Syd Bolton has officially become a JCI CLT (Certified Local Trainer) through JCI University. Bolton is the first individual in Canada to receive this designation in 2007.

In order to qualify, a member must attend JCI Prime (soon to be replaced with JCI Presenter & JCI Trainer) and conduct a minimum of 25 hours of JCI specific training.

Bolton has been working on this since 2002. "It was a lot harder than I expected to get 25 hours of JCI training. I found it easier to do training outside of the organization, but it really helps motivate you to help out your fellow members" he commented. "I'm happy to receive this designation and will now work on getting my CNT (Certified National Trainer) status."

JCI Brantford members raised $717.00 to support Heart and Stroke in their annual BIG BIKE RIDE which took place on June 24, 2007 at Montana's. More information on the team (and other pictures) can be found on the project page.
JCI Senators JCI Brantford members Paul Oddi and Syd Bolton both received JCI Senatorships during the 2007 Spring Conference. A JCI Senator is the highest achievement you can receive from the organization and less than 1% of the members worldwide actually attain this goal.

Oddi and Bolton have both been members of the Brantford chapter for roughly 10 years and were President in 2000 and 2001 respectively. They have also both continued to be active members in the organization, contributing to a variety of projects.
